On a roasting afternoon at Stithians Port continued their fine start to the season with an easy victory at Stithians. The new ball partnership of Adam Young and Matty Stokeld gave nothing away in their opening spells, with Stithians taking no chances and racing to 11-2 after 11 overs, with shamrock sniffer JJ Walker again making a habit of taking a stunning caught and bowled. Skipper Darren Parish dusted off his bowling boots in response to the 'non-playing captain' jibes and took his first 5 wicket haul of the season (any many others!) as only Dan Gilman offered any resistance as Stithians tried to grind out some runs.It was not to be their day as luck was against them, with the unfortunate Hamilton run out after Gilman drove straight back at Parish, the ball deflected skillfully (!) onto the stumps, Hamilton out of his ground. Pressure was maintained throughout by Port, with only Derek Newman dropping a sitter which won't be mentioned to save his blushes!

With the innings wrapped up and just 75 to chase, 'Dolmio' Bray and trisexual triathlete Matt Stokeld set about the task, but again Bray cut straight to point as he had last week, sending the swarthy Mediterranean back to his gondola! Newman then joined The Duke, who seems to be finding things too easy as his concentration begins to slip. With 45 runs to his name, with 3 sixes and 3 fours and the target in sight, he gifted a caught and bowled chance to bring in JJ to see the target reached and the lead at the top stretched to 30 points and an early meet in town with the victorious 2nds and the paparazzi, replacing the fluids by sampling the wide range of reasonably priced drinks in Big T's! Look out for their World Cup special offers and Port at home next Saturday to Barripper.
